It has been raining. For a month. There have been bits of sunshine here and there. Enough to make it muggy and disgusting. Everything in the lovely state of Virginia smells like mildew.
From the hurricane, to the tropical storms, to regular storms....we are saturated. I'm about to build an ark and start collecting the animals! It never hurts to be prepared :)
This is when Jay and Jack got so bored inside during hurricane Irene that they decided to walk down to the ice cream shop. I know what you are thinking. Who lets their kid go out in a hurricane? Well, this was before it really started blowing, and quite frankly we missed the worst of it.
I'm over it.
Over labor day we made a trip down to Yorktown beach with Jami and Scott. We were in the water for literally 4 minutes before it started pouring.
Needless to say, I did not get a tan.
Luke totally loved his first beach trip.
Until his bully of a big brother stole his toy.
And since it has been rainy, we have been home-bound. But, the boys find ways to entertain themselves.
I realize we haven't suffered nearly as much as others, so for that I am grateful. But, I would be even more grateful for some sun :)

That was the hardest part for me about living in IN. NO SUN. I wish I had bought a sun lamp the first year we were there. If you don't have one yet get one!
Holy cow thats a lot of rain! The middle of our summer looked like this too but minus the hurricane. I love all the pictures, especially the boys getting creative, made me laugh. :D I'm hoping some sunshine comes your way soon. :D
If not an ark, then a row boat might be necessary. Wow! I do not like rain! I know it is important and stuff, but it makes me blue. Hang in there, the sun will shine again.

Ahh you poor thing! Snow yes! Rain without the exciting lightning storm, no thank you! Live the pictures! You always make me laugh with your quirky comments! Love it!
I remember those Virginia days! Made me so grateful for arid Colorado! Enjoy! Winter is coming...!
Good thing you don't really need a tan because you are already tan. me on the other hand.....well, the picture speaks for itself :)
I hear you. It's been so gloomy and wet. Oh rain, rain go away. If you build that ark I'll start swimming to Virginia-if you can pick me up that'd be great!
