Farewell to the Ghetto

When Jay and I were engaged we planned a trip to Utah to look for apartments. Unfortunately we planned it for 3 weeks before the wedding...which was about the same time that my nervous breakdown set in. Needless to say, we didn't make the journey and just found our apartment online. Much to my dismay, our apartment ended up being in the ghetto. We decided it would just be a temporary place until we could find something better. Two and a half years later, we are finally moving and I am finding that I am going to miss our first place! However, the appeal of moving out of Utah outweighs the sadness I feel for our tiny little Harlem.

Things I will miss about the ghetto....

1. The Hookah shop across the street where you can buy all of your marijuana needs and if you get the munchies, they also sell tacos (brilliant business idea, if you ask me).

2. The Mariachi band that lives beneath us.

3. Our angry Haitian neighbor with her long strings of profanities. (Luckily, they have never been directed at me, only her children)

4. The entertainment of someone getting rear-ended nearly every day at our intersection. (I can only laugh because it has happened to me 4 times since we have lived in Utah. I will love feeling safe on the road again in Colorado)

5. Our pool. Even though it is probably full of e-coli and HIV during the winter....they clean it up pretty good for the summer months.

6. Last but not least, the panties that are usually draped over the railing by the laundry room waiting for someone to claim them.

bawhahahaha! You forgot the other little treasure you found in the laundry room. I would say what it was but am unsure if it's appropriate for your viewing audience.

Hello- I need you to update your blog so I can find out what is happening in CO. Also, so I can make dumb comments in your comment section. That is very important to me.
