It's Not A Toomah!!

Except that it is. A tumor. On our baby.

Luke has a lump under his brow bone between his eye and his nose. Just a tiny lump, but it has gotten bigger. Our pediatrician referred us to an Ophthalmologist who we saw on Thursday. He checked it out and said that Luke has a tumor. He isn't positive what kind of tumor and won't know until he takes it out and they do a biopsy. So, our poor little Luke has to have surgery. The Dr. wants to wait until he is 9 months so he is a little bigger to handle the anesthesia. His surgery is scheduled for August 12th, unless it starts growing faster, then they will take it out ASAP. He is optimistic that it is a benign tumor common in babies called a dermoid tumor/cyst. Feel free to wikipedia it, and prepare yourself to be grossed out.

So, if you would, please keep Luke in your prayers.

On a happier note, Luke thinks that rice cereal is poison. I might agree with him. He gags, he spits it out, he has even thrown up because he thinks it is so gross. We keep trying, but he keeps hating. I think I will let him have a break and try again in a month or so.

Lindsay Vs. The Birds

This lovely creature is the root of all of my angst. Jay says that doves are the most peaceful creatures....with their calm coos and beautiful features. This might be true if they weren't trying to build a nest on our patio. I don't want their poo all over and I certainly don't want them dive-bombing Jack this summer to protect their babies (spawn might be a better term).

I LOATHE them. I just hear that coo and my blood turns cold. I have knocked down the start of their nest about a million times and they just keep coming back! Our neighbors have a perfectly good patio....that is safe from me. I don't understand why they torment me. I find myself losing sleep trying to think of a way to keep them away. I feel like the coyote trying to get that irritating road runner. And soon they will have babies...and take over the world!!

......Am I in an Alfred Hitchcock movie?

Jackisms

Just a few things Jack says that will brighten your day :)

(Watching Tangled during the "I have a Dream" song)
Jack: Mom, I have a dream too.
Me: You do?
Jack: Yep. In my bed.

"My stinky feet taste DELICIOUS!!"

(Yelling from the bathroom) "HEY!! My poop went back into it's home! Come out poop!"

(He had the flu and I gave him some Ginger Ale) "Mom, please have more gingerbread man juice?"

"Where is my Bummy Rabbit book?"

"Mom, is that a cockarooster?"

"Mom, I don't eat your boob anymore like Lukey does."

"Brass monkey monkey, that funky monkey" (Yes, he does sing Beastie Boys)

(Saying prayers) "Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that Lukey came out of mom's tummy, thank you that Dad didn't fall down playing basketball, and thank you for my markers, Jesus Christ, Amen"

The Mansierre

Our sweet Luke has man boobs. Very, very cute man boobs. I always wanted a chubby baby!

He is also going bald, but that is a sensitive subject.

He is just so divine. If I didn't hate being pregnant, I would already be working on another one.

Jack's recent diaper freedom has caused us to give him a new nickname, "Butt Crack Jack". Has a nice ring, doesn't it? He has decided that he doesn't want to wear underwear. He just wants to go "Commano". Ahhhh, I can just picture Kindergarten...

What would I do all day without these two?

Ducks in a Row

Jack has certainly inherited many of our traits. Jay and I both like things organized. However we have very different organizational techniques. Turns out that Jack has his own organizational style as well. All of his toys have their specific place. His routine has to be done in a certain order. Any deviation can cause major problems. I have spent the last few months taking pictures of how Jack lines things up. He is very particular about how they line up. I find it amusing....Jay made me ask the Dr. about it. Turns out he is going to be just fine, in spite of his obsessive tendencies :)

Our neighbor gave us an old high chair/desk for Jack. Jay has big plans for painting and reupholstering it. So, we gave Jack the electric screwdriver and let him take it apart. It took him less than 5 minutes to get about 30 screws out.....then he lined up the pieces. I'm pretty sure he is going to grow up to be an engineer. However, if you ask him, he is going to grow up to be Wolverine.

Not For the Faint of Uterus

Warning: These videos will make you want to have a baby...or another baby.

He is so sweet he almost defrosts my frozen uterus.

If I could guarantee that all my future children would be as sweet as Luke, I would be like the Old Woman who lived in a shoe. No joke.

He is just such a love. However, he is really getting tired of the camera. I can't believe he gave me the finger.

Bayou Voodoo

Luke and I have acne. His is worse so I feel for him, but I am 28 and too old for this. I already went through puberty.

There was a lady that I went to massage school with. She was from Louisiana and had quite an interesting background. Anyway, I was complaining about a zit one day and she said, "Oh just wait until you have a baby! Then you will have the magic cure!". I asked her what she meant and she proceeded to tell me a home remedy for break outs from the bayou.

Are you ready for this??.....

"Take your baby's full pee diaper and wrap your face in it. That baby urine has serious power to get rid of acne!"

I want to know what sicko thought this up.

I still dry heave thinking about it. Thanks bayou voodoo, but I am probably going to stick with Proactiv.
